As part of its commitment to promoting more sustainable events, Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) collaborated with BALIKIN, the reusable cup service by  Langit Biru Pertiwi, to implement a reusable cup system at Jakarta Sky Fun Run (JSFR) 2026. Held on 12 July 2026, the event brought together approximately 5,000 participants and demonstrated that hydration at large-scale sporting events can be provided without relying on single-use plastic cups.

To support the event, 10,000 reusable cups were prepared and distributed across three water stations along the race route. The reusable cup system was designed to ensure participants could easily return their cups after use, allowing them to be collected, cleaned, and recirculated throughout the event. Through the support of volunteers and operational teams, the implementation ran smoothly and achieved a 100% return rate, reflecting participants’ strong engagement in supporting more sustainable event practices.

Beyond reducing waste, the initiative also contributed to lowering the event’s environmental footprint. By replacing disposable cups with reusable alternatives, Jakarta Sky Fun Run 2026 was estimated to avoid approximately 17.7 tons of CO₂ emissions compared to the use of single-use cups. This achievement demonstrates how practical circular solutions can generate measurable environmental benefits while maintaining a seamless experience for participants.

The reusable cup initiative also received positive responses from runners, who appreciated the convenience of the system throughout the race. Their participation showed that simple changes in event operations can encourage responsible consumption and foster greater awareness of environmental sustainability.
